Miralem Pjanic plays in central midfield for Italian giants Roma and his national side, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Aged only 25, Pjanic already has 50 caps and is respected as a player with excellent technical ability. The Guardian recognised the Bosnian’s talent by putting him at no. 58 in their 2014 list of the world’s best players. Pjanic began his professional career at French club Metz. He then moved on to Olympique Lyonnais.in 2008, by which time he had become one of the outstanding young players in France. Though impressing at one of France’s biggest clubs, Pjanic wasn’t always in the first team due to a new rotation policy. Roma were keen to hire his services, however, and bought him for €11 million in 2011. Pjanic gradually flourished at Roma, and his goal during a friendly against Manchester United in 2014, from an effort in his own half, underlined his skill.
