The Red Devils can Win Premier League Title – Van Gaal

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says, we are still in the title race and we can win it. The Red Devils have come back at fifth place in the Premier League table after beating Liverpool by 1-0 at Anfield on Sunday. Now they are seven points behind from leaders Arsenal and second-placed Leicester City. When the question about title was asked from Van Gaal, he said: “We have many matches still to play. We have to keep it, which is not an easy task. But we can do it because we are showing our performance every week, that’s why we can do it.”

Van Gaal side reduced the gap on Arsenal and Leicester, because these both teams could only get single point after playing their games draw at the weekend. While third-placed Manchester City and fourth-placed Tottenham grabbed highest possible points in their matches. “Today is extremely important because our opponents have lost points,” said the Dutchman. “Now there is a difference of seven points, and we can overcome it. So that’s what I’m considering.”

Van Gaal has confronted critique from some club fans for his side’s playing style, with ex-midfielder Paul Scholes saying they play “negative football”. But the 64-year old Dutchman viewed his team extend their unbeaten run in 2016 after Wayne Rooney’s late header against Liverpool. “We have begun the year amazingly with a lot of victories and I believe this match will provide a big boost to players and the supporters, and everyone in the atmosphere of Manchester United,” he said. “I hope we can proceed this performance – that’s why we are here.”
