]]>After three days, Arsenal is back in action against Newcastle Utd on Sunday afternoon. Lee Mason was nominated for this one and it is far from the best that PGMOL has to offer. In fact, none of them really stand out for their excellence.
Just this morning, Mail Online published an article about two referees who failed their fitness tests to become members of the FIFA International List. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Arsenal Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

There will be no Euros for Andy Madley or David Coote unless they pass on the second attempt given to them after blaming the flu for their poor performance. What a poppy. If either had had a dose of flu, he wouldn’t have gotten out of bed in the first place.
It was not a good time for the PGMOL, as Jon Moss found himself in hot water because of his alleged comments made to Bournemouth players in their 2-1 loss to Sheffield Utd.
Dan Gosling said the referee did not help. Giving slight mistakes and small comments to two or three guys didn’t really help too. I thought it was very disrespectful what he said.
These are just the little niggly and then the sarcastic little comments. Officials state about respect at the start of the season and there was no respect from Jon Moss on Sunday.
I thought it was a shame. The comments he made especially to me and another player – talking about the relegation zone and “you’re still in the relegation zone”, “you have one”, “your team has one”, this and that and that was very, very disrespectful.
In my opinion, Jon Moss is up there with some of the worst referees in the Premier League, followed closely by the others. They are “managed” by a guy who must be one of the few who has not been able to oversee the successful implementation of VAR in England.
A subject discussed several times, but it still fails. Not because of technology in my opinion but because of operators who seem to ignore the “clear and obvious” rule.

Marc Clattenburg also found himself in trouble a few years ago for reasons similar to Moss. His comments were made to Adam Lallana who was then in Southampton. Clattenburg referred to the game change since he was called up for England, which didn’t go well.
Clattenburg said his comments were aimed at disseminating a situation rather than shaking his cards for dissent. Moss may have been doing the same thing, but even so, there is a difference between the two. Mocking the position and difficulties of the Bournemouth League was, in my opinion, unprofessional.
However, footballers cannot play on both tables. You don’t have to be a professional spreader to determine what some players learn from officials, so why are they surprised, upset even when they come back a little? Two wrongs don’t make a right of course but if it’s the start of something regular, there will only be one result. Zero tolerance in both directions.
Rugby is right. There is mutual respect between officials and players and when a referee speaks, the player listens. No first name is used during the game, just numbers and the color of the jersey and therefore problems rarely materialize.
Football referees seem to want to be everyone’s friends, certainly in many cases anyway. I remember Rooney had always been called Wayne by Mike Dean during our games, but these were just surnames for our guys.
Referees, linesmen, and women are there to do a job and they have to be professional. Footballers are not their best friend, they should not laugh and joke with the two and the same goes for officials. If a player begins to abuse the referee, reserve them. If he continues, send him back. After all, it’s in the rules.

This sends a message to children who are also growing up and to their parents/guardians who raise them while playing sports. Getting it right at the local level will only create a better future in all sports.
As for Jon Moss, well, he’s been cleared of any wrongdoing, which isn’t a big surprise, but that begs the question of how this incident was investigated. If Bournemouth’s complaint was formalized, someone other than Mike Riley should have investigated. For me, a large broom appeared and the nearest mat was lifted.

]]>Under normal circumstances, a team in tenth place, ten points adrift of the top four with 15 games to go, could probably stick their passports away for the following season, safe in the knowledge that they wouldn’t be playing in Europe’s elite competition. However, things are a little different this season, the campaign in which nobody wants to qualify for the Champions League, with all the main contenders tossing around points like confetti. You can purchase online Premier League Tickets from our website, around the world to enjoy its terrific performances.
Arsenal, therefore, is in with a chance. But only if they beat Chelsea on Tuesday, and that’s in the words of their manager. “It’s very, very important for us to win this game to fight for [the top four],” Mikel Arteta said this week
Following Chelsea, this season has been, at the very least, entertaining. It has been since the end of October anyway: since then, a run lasting 19 games in all competitions, they have only registered the same result in consecutive games once, and that was the back-to-back victories against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and Burnley in the league at the start of this month. Otherwise, they haven’t managed to string two wins together, not even two draws or two defeats.

The most obvious explanation for that is their talented but incomplete and inexperienced squad: with that, this sort of inconsistency is perhaps inevitable. But it’s still a concern: Chelsea’s grip on the fourth place has loosened with this inconsistency, and if Frank Lampard wants his side to be sure of a spot in the Champions League, he has to get them winning like they were in the autumn.
It was slightly unusual to see Chris Wilder display even a hint of an inferiority complex, but when he was asked about his Sheffield United side’s prospects against Manchester City, he puffed his cheeks out and chuckled, as if he was the manager of a plucky lower league side drawn against them in the FA Cup.
But Wilder will know that City are vulnerable: they’ve already dropped more points in 23 games this season than they did in the whole of the last term, beaten already by brave minnows like Wolves, Norwich and Manchester United.
So, there’s no reason why Wilder’s Blades can’t get something from the visit of City. Wilder might have been cautious in public, but you can guarantee he will be filling his players with the confidence to beat their stumbling behemoth opponents.
The one pinprick of light for the other 19 teams in the Premier League used to be Liverpool’s inability to keep a clean sheet. In their first 15 games, they only kept their opponents out on two occasions, but in the subsequent seven fixtures they haven’t let in a single goal: the last time Liverpool conceded was on December 4, to Everton, some 675 minutes of football ago. They’re an utterly absurd team, now at both ends of the pitch.
So, it will need something pretty special to breach their backline: a step forward probably the most exciting non-Liverpool player in the Premier League at the moment, Adama Traore. Wolves’ resources are stretched sugar paper-thin at the moment but their lack of depth is currently being compensated for by brilliance in the players they do have available, most notably Traore who inspired their comeback win at Southampton on Saturday. If anyone is going to break Liverpool down, you fancy it will be someone like Traore.
Even with Leicester’s new lofty position in the top four, the prospect of this match doesn’t quicken the pulse. But it will be interesting just to see whether Leicester’s recent results and performances represent a blip or something more serious. You can perhaps forgive dropping points against a resurgent Southampton or away to a Burnley side who will always provide a stiff test. But if they don’t win at home to West Ham, for whom the new manager shine from David Moyes’s return has already firmly dimmed, then there could be more significant problems afoot.

Steve Bruce doesn’t need any luck at the moment when it comes to results (although the win over Chelsea was their first victory in four), but he could do with some gods of fate looking upon him a little kindlier as far as injuries are concerned. Jetro Willems was the latest to fall lame, out for the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury, while Paul Dummett has also been ruled out for a long spell and Fabian Sachar is only just coming back from his injury sustained just before Christmas. Newcastle could just do with all of their important players staying upright at the moment.
Arsenal and Chelsea will play for the 200th time across all competitions, with Arsenal leading the series with 77 wins (65 for Chelsea) and 57 draws.
Tottenham have been held scoreless in three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since November 2013.
Manchester United have a 10-game unbeaten streak vs. Burnley (6-0-4), with their last loss to the Clarets coming in August 2009.
Liverpool’s 64 points through 22 matches are the best start ever in Europe’s Top 5 leagues.
Perhaps it’s because of the Birmingham City tattoo that adorns his chest, but Troy Deeney seems to light up at the very thought of playing Aston Villa: he’s faced them three times in his career so far, and has five goals to show for it. He bagged a brace against them a few weeks ago, and given Watford’s uptick in form and Villa’s assorted fragilities, a bet on him finding the net again looks like a pretty safe one.
Crystal Palace 2-2 Southampton
Aston Villa 1-2 Watford
Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton
Everton 2-0 Newcastle United
Sheffield United 1-1 Manchester City
Chelsea 3-2 Arsenal
Tottenham 2-1 Norwich City
Leicester 1-0 West Ham United
Manchester United 2-0 Burnley
Wolves 1-3 Liverpool

Arsenal has confirmed that Sead Kolasinac and Reiss Nelson will both miss the clash against Chelsea on Tuesday night. You can purchase online Premier League Tickets from our website, around the world to enjoy its terrific performances.

The pair missed the 1-1 draw against Sheffield United at the weekend, and will again be absent as Mikel Arteta’s side travel to west London.
The Gunners have confirmed that Kolasinac is still recovering from the left thigh strain that kept him out of their Emirates clash with the Blades, while Nelson is out with a hamstring problem.
Both are expected to return to full training during the winter break, meaning they will also miss the clash against Burnley on 2 February.
Sokratis was also left out of the side on Saturday after suffering from illness, but Arsenal confirmed that the Greek defender will be assessed ahead of the midweek clash. With Kieran Tierney still in rehabilitation after his shoulder problem, Bukayo Saka is again set to deputies at left-back against Chelsea.
The teenager started against Sheffield United on Saturday, and Gunner’s boss Mikel Arteta was full of praise for his performance.

“I think he could (have a future at left-back) because he’s willing to learn, he is applying himself the big time he is someone that has never played (that position) before but he’s really trying to do it as well as possible,” Arteta said.
Elsewhere, Arsenal could make changes in attack for the Chelsea clash, after Eddie Nketiah returned to the Arsenal squad at the weekend. After being recalled from his loan spell at Leeds United, the striker was set to be sent out to another Championship club, but after watching him in training, Arteta opted against sending Nketia on another short-term deal.
Speaking to reporters, Arteta admitted that the forward has a chance of featuring from the start at Stamford Bridge. We will assess who is in the best conditions to play in who is training well and we’ll make the decision based on that.

The window for Premier League teams opens later this week, with clubs expected to bolster their options for the second part of the campaign. And below we take a look at the latest updates and rumours that have emerged over the past 24 hours. Football fans from all over the world can buy online Premier League tickets to enjoy its stunning performances.
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are prepared to battle it out in the transfer market for the services of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to the Daily Star.
Arsenal, still winless under Mikel Arteta, is seeking defensive reinforcements in the New Year to save their campaign and Spurs are also on the hunt for players in this area, as Jose Mourinho looks to make his mark.
As a result, the North London duo are both said to be prepared to pay £50m for the services of the 21-year-old but the report also mentions that Manchester City could also be in the mix.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a second-choice striker in the January transfer market, the Manchester Evening News reports.
United suffered a blow with the news that Borussia Dortmund has won the race for Erling Haaland but that hasn’t changed Solskjaer’s approach, with alternative options to the 19-year-old identified.
Solskjaer’s side had a similar contingency plan in the summer during their pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, although that was eventually not needed, although there is still a ‘high possibility’ no new faces will arrive at Old Trafford.
Newcastle United is working on a major deal to extend Jonjo Shelvey’s stay on Tyneside, Chronicle Live reports.
The former Liverpool midfielder is entering the final 18 months of his current deals but has informed the club he would like to remain at St. James’ Park for the peak years of his career.
West Ham has long been attributed with an interest in Shelvey but he is not keen on a move to London and both parties are relaxed about the situation, with confidence that a new deal can be agreed.
Wolves are set to lose Italian striker Patrick Cutrone in the January transfer window as Fiorentina prepare a swoop, reports cited by the Daily Mail state.
The 21-year-old was omitted from the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday through illness, having previously been named among the substitutes, but reports surrounding the striker’s future continue to arise.
It’s stated that Fiorentina is preparing an offer to take Cutrone back to Serie A on loan for the remainder of the season, before offering £12.8m to make the deal permanent in the summer.

Football fans from all over the world can buy online Premier League tickets to enjoy its stunning performances.
But how much will be spent by the top-flight clubs and which clubs will make the most signings?
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham fans will all be hoping their teams are busy in the market, with the Blues looking to strengthen their hold on the top four, while the Gunners will be desperate for reinforcements to boost their ailing season.
Jose Mourinho and his Spurs side will want to continue challenging for those Champions League places, but they will perhaps be looking for some defensive additions to do so.
West Ham will also be scouring the market, after appointing David Moyes as their new manager.
The Scot will surely want to bolster his squad to ease any relegation worries.
Here are the latest gossip and live updates ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
Hertha Berlin is set to make a loan offer to Arsenal for midfielder Granit Xhaka.
MIkel Arteta says he is keen on keeping the 27-year-old for the remainder of the season, amid strong interest in Xhaka from the Bundesliga side.
Xhaka has reportedly already agreed on terms on a potential move to Germany, and L’Equipe (via GFFN) state that Hertha is offering a loan deal for the Swiss international, with a €30m (£25.6m) option to buy Whether Arsenal would be keen to accept a deal with no obligation to buy remains to be seen.
Both Arsenal and West Ham are considering making late bids for Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports in Poland.
Napoli has had an offer of £18m rejected, with Lobotka being heavily linked with a move to the Serie A club.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said that discussions over plans for the January transfer window will take place in the ‘next few days.’
The head coach has up to nine players unavailable due to injury problems, meaning that he may have to dip into the market to strengthen his squad.
Arteta spoke to TalkSPORT about the upcoming window after the loss against Chelsea.
We will discuss in the next few days, internally, where we can improve the squad.
Because at the moment we have a lot of injuries like I said.
Some of them might be long term as well, so we have to adapt the plan.

David Moyes has been confirmed as the new man in charge at West Ham following Manuel Pellegrini’s sacking on Saturday following the 2-1 loss against Leicester.
It seems that the Scotsman already has some transfer targets in mind ahead of the January transfer window, with the Sun reporting that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is one of his top targets in the coming month’s window.

According to the Star, Arsenal and Tottenham are prepared to pay £50m to sign RB Leipzig center-back Dayot Upamecano, but the north London sides could face competition from Manchester City for the 21-year-old.
Liverpool is stepping up their interest in Lille striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has scored 13 goals in Ligue 1 so far this season, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ordered detailed scouting reports on the Nigerian forward.
The 21-year-old netted 20 goals for Belgian side Charleroi last season while on loan from Wolfsburg and has continued his scoring form in this campaign.

According to The Express, Lille has accepted that it is only a matter of time before they are forced to cash in on Osimhen.
According to the Mirror, Manchester United pulled out of the race to sign Erling Braut Haaland because of concerns over the way the deal was structured.
Haaland, who has joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Leipzig, was a target for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But United
withdrew from the race to sign the 19-year-old striker amid concerns how much
money for the deal was going to Haaland‘an agent, Mino Raiola, and the player’s
father.
Those concerns overpayments and the terms of the deal forced United to back
off, leaving the way clear for Dortmund to sign the highly-rated forward, who
has eight goals in six Champions League games this season.

David Moyes has been appointed as manager of West Ham a year-and-a-half after his departure from the club in May 2018.
The Scot was originally brought in on a short-term basis to save the Irons from relegation following the reign of Slaven Bilic.
He will now take on the same challenge again following a dramatic loss of form under ex-Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Borussia Dortmund could now be set to cash in on Jadon Sancho after securing Erling Haaland.
Dortmund, who confirmed the capture of Haaland for a relative snip at £17.1m on Sunday afternoon, beat United and Juventus to the forward’s signature.
And now according to the BBC, the German outfit is set to change their transfer stance on the England international placing the Blues on alert.
Mikel Arteta has suggested that there is a future for Granit Xhaka at Arsenal despite strong links with a move away to Hertha Berlin.
According to Blick, Hertha has offered €25 million (£21.3m) to Arsenal for Xhaka. But speaking after the Chelsea game, Arteta provided an update on the Swiss international.

Football fans from all over the world can buy online Premier League tickets to enjoy its stunning performances.
The table, released by bettingexpert, is based on Boxing Day results since the Premier League started back in 1992, with Manchester United coming out on top ahead of the Reds.
Arsenal and Tottenham make up the rest of the top four, while Chelsea sits in fifth – ahead of Manchester City and West Ham who sit sixth and seventh respectively.
At the bottom, Norwich sits at the foot of the table, with Wolves and Sheffield United joining them in the bottom three.
United, who will take on Newcastle tomorrow afternoon, have on average achieved 2.52 points per match on Boxing Day, with Liverpool on 2.13, Arsenal on 2 and Tottenham on 1.86.
Chelsea has achieved 1.80, with West Ham securing 1.50 and Crystal Palace, who sit in ninth, averaging 1.22 points.
United also prevails on average goals scored on Boxing Day, giving their fans the gift of 2.6 goals per game the only Premier League side to average over two per match, with reigning Premier League champions City scoring 1.68.
Chelsea has scored 1.64 goals on games played on December 26, with Spurs netting 2.0 goals, West Ham bagging 1.94 and Palace scoring 0.66 times.
Surprisingly, though, it is Palace who tops the table of fewest goals let in, with the Eagles conceding just 0.66 goals per game immediately after Christmas.

Arsenal has identified Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as their number one transfer target for January. The former Celtic and Fulham forward have impressed in Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals in 18 league appearances this season.
Manchester United has been previously linked with the Frenchman but le10sport report that it’s Arsenal that wants to sign the 23-year-old Dembele. Is seen as a younger alternative upfront, should Aubameyang leave this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be adamant that Paul Pogba is not leaving Manchester United in January. But it seems the midfielder has other ideas According to CalcioMercato, the World Cup winner is keen on leaving Old Trafford to rejoin former side Juventus.
The 26-year-old has only recently returned from injury and his services are likely to be linked to a host of clubs during the mid-season transfer window.

Manchester City has identified three new defenders as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his backline in January.
The city has been forced to play Fernandinho at the heart of their defense. After failing to replace Vincent Kompany who left in the summer, and with Aymeric Laporte sidelined with a knee injury.
And now The Telegraph is reporting that City’s scouts have identified three defenders. Nathan Ake, Pau Torres and Ruben Dias as possible signings in the upcoming window, with Ake also recently linked with a move to Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho is eyeing a January swoop for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare in the upcoming window.

]]>With just weeks to go until the January transfer window opens, Premier League clubs are already planning moves to strengthen their squads. Arsenal’s situation is severely complicated by their search for a new head coach, so the Gunners may not be as active in the market.
Across north London, neighbors Tottenham could be busy with Jose Mourinho no doubt keen to bring in several of his own players to shape the squad. Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been closely linked with a reunion with his former manager. Football fanatics from all over the world can buy Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Chelsea’s transfer ban was shortened on appeal meaning the Blues are now able to buy players in January, and the Blues could be set for a major spree with the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho, Ben Chilwell and Nathan Ake all rumoured to be on Frank Lampard’s wishlist.
Will West Ham also dip into the market? Manuel Pellegrini has been hit by several key injuries this season, so could try and sign a new goalkeeper and midfielder to bolster the Hammers’ squad. We’ll bring you all the latest news during the day, as and when it happens, so don’t go anywhere.

Former Crystal Palace star John Solako says he does not expect Wilfried Zaha to move to Chelsea because of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Palace winger Zaha has been heavily linked to Stamford Bridge since the club’s transfer ban was halved.
However, Palace is reportedly holding firm on their £80m price for the attacker – and Solako does not think a deal will get done – but did suggest a swap.
“I honestly don’t think Wilf will go to Chelsea,” Solako told Love Sport Radio.
“Hudson-Odoi has come back and I don’t think they’ll want to hinder his development. But Willian and Pedro are getting on a bit, and maybe they’ll want someone to add to that.

“They could do a great little swap, though. Palace has got their eyes on Giroud, and that would be fantastic – Giroud plus money! If the Palace gets the right offer, they could be tempted.
“Wilfried definitely has the ability to play for Chelsea, and no Palace fan can begrudge him if he wants that move.”
Spurs and Leicester are reportedly among several clubs chasing Juventus defender Merih Demiral.
According to Calciomercato, the Serie A side is trying to hold onto the 21-year-old, but he has only made three appearances this season in all competitions.
Milan is also noted as one of the sides keeping track of the defender, but Juve has so far rejected any and all offers.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs are all said to be tracking Lille attacker Victor Osimhen.
Sky Sports state that the Nigerian international is likely to stay with the Ligue 1 club in January unless they receive an offer too good to refuse, with the Premier League trio all keeping tabs on him.
The 20-year-old is apparently happy at Lille and determined to help them secure Champions League football for next season.

Liverpool has announced the signing of Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg.
The attacker will join the club on January 1 after Liverpool met his £7.25million release clause.
Manchester City is reportedly demanding £2million from Arsenal to release Mikel Arteta.
The Daily Mail state that the Premier League champions are seething over Arsenal’s shambolic and disrespectful conduct in the hunt to replace Unai Emery as a manager, but a deal is expected to be done this week.
Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and fans loved his performance against Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal is being linked with Sevilla wonderkid Antonio Zarzano in the January transfer window.
The 17-year-old has apparently already rejected an offer from Real Madrid because he is dreaming of making his debut for Sevilla, according to Estadio Deportivo.
However, despite interest from Real, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, Arsenal is said to be in pole position for the young star.
He is not currently in the Sevilla B-team Sevilla Atletico in the Segunda Division B, and at the moment a debut for the first team is said to be a long way off.
However, after impressing at the Algarve International Tournament, Arsenal is said to have increased their interest in the attacking midfielder, and he could reportedly become Mikel Arteta’s first signing.
Spurs are reportedly targeting a double swoop for Lille stars Boubakary Soumare and Victor Osimhen.
Lille chief Gerard Lopez has admitted that Mourinho is interested in signing Soumare, along with a number of clubs.
And Jeunes Footeux states that the Spurs boss is also considering a move for Osimhen as he attempts to take some goalscoring pressure off Harry Kane.
Mourinho has already gone to Lille for recruitment, taking Joao Sacramento as his assistant manager.

Spurs have reportedly made an offer to Marseille youngster Isaac Lihadji.
The 17-year-old will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, with foreign clubs able to agree with a deal from the beginning of January.
The youngster has made just two appearances in Ligue 1 this season, but the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Barcelona are all keeping an eye on him, according to Fussball Transfers.
Dortmund, Spurs, Barcelona and Lille are all said to have put their offers in for the attacker, with Marseille also doing everything possible to try and hold onto him.
Spurs have announced a new contract for back-up goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman.
The 21-year-old has been on the bench on a number of occasions this season, with Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm both picking up injuries, but Paulo Gazzaniga is the No.1 show stopper in their absence.
Whiteman’s new deal at Spurs runs until 2022.
Napoli is rumoured to be interested in Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
However, Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) states that the Serie A club would be unable to purchase him in January.
Instead, they would need to take him on an initial six-month loan deal, a move which Arsenal would be unlikely to agree to.
However, the final say would go to the new manager, and whether Mikel Arteta sees a place for the Uruguay international in his side is another matter.
Napoli is also said to be considering moves for Sander Berge, Stanislav Lobotka and Boubakary Soumare, the latter of whom has also been linked to Spurs.
Jose Mourinho reportedly has plans to trim his Spurs squad in the January transfer window.
The Telegraph state that Tottenham will be willing to listen to offers for Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Victor Wanyama.
Hertha Berlin and a number of Chinese clubs are said to be interested in 28-year-old Wanyama.
Meanwhile, Rose’s situation is complicated with the defender insisting that he will see out the remainder of his 18-month contract.
Eriksen could also leave, with Daniel Levy insisting that Spurs will not be scared to sell players to a direct Premier League rival, with Manchester United said to be interested in the Denmark international.

]]>We’ve listened to the Arsenal fans who said they wanted Wilfred Ndidi to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window and this how the Leicester City midfielder got on after their 0-3 home defeat to Manchester City, the state of Arsenal’s defense and the players charged with protecting the backline is back in focus.
The Gunners look years away from being able to mount a Premier League title challenge of their own. In fact, they face a real battle to secure European football for next season, let alone the Champions League and a top-four finish. Football fanatics from all over the world can buy Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Luckily the January transfer window will once again open next month given the Gunners the chance to strengthen their squad in preparation for an assault on the run-in, and fans have already named the players they want to see signed.
RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upemecano topped the poll but Leicester City enforcer Wilfred Ndidi came in second place, highlighting the desire to see another defensive midfielder added to the squad.

What kind of impact could Ndidi make at the club if he signed in January?
To find out we booted up the popular football management simulation game Football Manager 2020 to have a bit of fun and try to predict the future.
Wilfred Ndidi to Arsenal
To set up this simulation, we booted up the Football Manager 2020 editor and arranged for Ndidi to join Arsenal on January 1st for a fee of £80million, using the CIES Football Observatory as a guideline, who suggest his transfer value is between €70-90million.
We then simulated the entire 2019/20 season on the game, to see what kind of impact the Leicester City midfielder could have at the Emirates Stadium. This is what Ndidi’s profile looks like in Football Manager 2020.
So, what kind of impact did he have on his arrival at Arsenal?
Ndidi slotted straight into the center of Arsenal’s midfield, playing mostly alongside Lucas Torreira, in what was an incredibly solid midfield partnership.
The Nigerian international made 28 appearances for the Gunners from January until the end of the season, and despite being signed to offer protection to the back four, the 23-year-old scored six goals and registered five assists for the club, showing off his attacking talents.
His Premier League performances were particularly impressive, scoring five goals and registering two assists in 17 league appearances, with an average rating of 7.32, which is outstanding considering he joined midway through a season.
In the Europa League, Ndidi registered three assists and scored once in nine appearances, with an average rating of 7.34, even better than his league average!
The Leicester City midfielder’s best performances included a Man of the Match performance against Bournemouth at the Emirates in March, in which he scored and registered an assist in a 3-1 win.
Ndidi also scored in their league meeting with Man City at the Emirates in February, in which they produced a great performance to claim a 2-2 draw. But, the Nigerian’s best performance came in Arsenal’s biggest game of the season, the Europa League Final.
Ndidi was Man of the Match in their 2-1 win over Torino in the final, providing an assist for Pepe’s winning goal and producing an excellent performance overall, as Arsenal lifted the Europa League trophy. His excellent performances meant that he featured in the Arsenal best eleven in 2019/20, alongside Torreira in a 4-4-2, with Aubameyang, Lacazette upfront, Pepe and Ozil wide.

In what was an impressive season for the club, Ndidi helped Arsenal concede far fewer goals than the previous year, with only Liverpool and Manchester United conceding more. Ndidi was featured in some of the top-performing individual stats overviews, with the Nigerian featuring fourth in tackles per game.
And fourth in terms of distance covered per 90, adding real bite and work rate to the Arsenal midfield Arsenal finished in fourth place in the Premier League in 2019/20, with the help of Ndidi, finishing above Chelsea and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
So, Football Manager predicts that Ndidi would come in and make an immediate impact for the Gunners, offering both defensive stability and an attacking threat, leading them to a European title and a fourth-place Premier League finish.

When De Bruyne put the visitors 1-0 up with a brilliant shot from long range in the second minute, we knew that it would be near impossible to come away with anything from the game, and when Sterling made it two after just 15 minutes, Arsenal were as good as dead and buried and it looked like we were in for a landslide defeat.
De Bruyne made it comfortably 3-0 before half-time, and it was left to poor old Freddie Ljungberg to try and explain the differences between the sides in the after-match conference. “Of course we know in the last couple of years that we’ve struggled against City at home, so we knew that before the game started,” he said.
“We started well when Martinelli had a chance and we thought, ‘Oh, this looks good’. But we got done on the transitions again. One of the goals we had five of us against two of them and they still scored.

“We worked a lot on being balanced and having players back for the counter, but then De Bruyne showed his quality. Not many players can score those goals like he did today from small chances. Maybe it shows the difference in the teams.
“They score from those chances with top, top players. I think what we can learn is that we got done on the transitions again. If you look at City, when we were able to counter against them – and that was one of our game plans they had five yellow cards from bringing us down when we had a chance to counter.
“That’s tactical and they worked on that. That’s something that we need to do. Maybe we need to learn to be more cynical when opponents have a chance to counter us. That is a bit of a weakness of ours and maybe we need to take those fouls.
“First of all, I think they take things on board. We have looked at clips about how we changed our structure. We’re actually there whereas before we didn’t have any players there for the transition. Now we are there. Of course, now the next part is that we need to stop the action, to create something.

“I can’t remember which player it was but we were three against one, it got a deflection and then came out to De Bruyne. That’s a small thing but that’s something we have to work on: how to defend. But I think we sorted organization a bit, sort of, on the transition.
“I must say that if you’re 3-0 down against a team likes City who can play well with possession, it’s tough. I said at half-time that I knew it was hard, especially against City. Liverpool and City are in a league of their own at the moment.
“I said it’s about pride. They had to go out and show in the second half, even if they don’t react and I knew it would be difficult to win 4-3, but there should be no chance of them scoring another goal. We tried to at least impose ourselves a little bit.

“It was hard for them because City kept the possession well. Sometimes we did as well between the boxes, we understood the game plan of trying to change it and open them up a bit. But we were not dangerous enough. We had some small half-chances where something could have happened. When they had their chances, De Bruyne smashed it straight in the net.”
Well, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy against Man City, but it is still hard to watch a game where we only get one shot on target in the whole 90 minutes, and it looks like Freddie or whoever his replacement will be has got a hell of a job on their hands to get this lot back on track.
