Robbie Savage has predicted that Arsenal’s Premier League form will face another blip as they host Wolves on Saturday. The Gunners have won just one of their last four league matches and threw away a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace last week. And Savage feels it could well happen again, against a Wolves side that has lost just once on their travels this season. Football fans can get Premier League Tickets on our website on exclusively discounted prices.

Arsenal’s rivals Tottenham have suffered a worse fate than their north London neighbor, having won only two of their previous nine matches in all competitions. They come up against an Everton side in similar peril, with the Toffees teetering precariously above the drop zone.

No team in the top flight faces a bigger week than Southampton however, with the Saints coming off the back of last week’s 9-0 thrashing at the hands of Leicester. They were beaten in the Carabao Cup action by Man City in midweek, and have the difficult task of trying to contain them for the second time in a matter of days at the Etihad.

With City odds-on to pick up a win, added pressure is on Liverpool to maintain their six-point lead in the table. The Reds have a tricky trip to Aston Villa to overcome, with the hosts unbeaten in their last four at home. Meanwhile, Man Utd travel south as they bid to string a run of results together in Saturday’s 12:30 pm kick-off.

The Red Devils have won all three of their matches since drawing with Liverpool a fortnight ago but meet Bournemouth who has lost just once at the Vitality Stadium this season. In Saturday’s other televised pick Chelsea head to basement club Watford, while Leicester is in action on the box at Selhurst Park on Sunday at 2 pm.

Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool

Brighton 1-0 Norwich

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed a contract extension which commits him to the club until 2021. The Argentine, 44, was appointed in May 2014 on a five-year deal and guided Spurs to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League and a League Cup final in his first season in charge. With one game to go, Tottenham are guaranteed a top-three Premier League finish this season. “We believe this is just the beginning,” said Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur were challenging for the Premier League title until a bad-tempered 2-2 draw at Chelsea last week ensured Leicester City were crowned champions of England. Pochettino has created a fast and powerful side with a backbone of young English players such as striker Harry Kane, defender Eric Dier and midfielder Dele Alli, who have all received their first international caps during the Argentine’s tenure.

He was photographed having lunch with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson this week, prompting rumours he could be a target for the Old Trafford team this summer. However, the former Paris St-Germain player believes he can bring trophies to Tottenham. “We have a long-term project and huge belief that we can achieve something big here for the future,” added Pochettino.

This club has all the ingredients to continue to challenge at the very top in both the Premier League and in Europe. “We want to be here to be a part of what I believe will be a special period in the club’s history,” he added. Assistant head coach Jesus Perez, first team coach Miguel D’Agostino and first team goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez have also agreed extensions to their contracts.

Tottenham Hotspur produced an outstanding display to thrash Stoke City by 4-0 and move five points behind leaders Leicester City with four games of the season remaining. Harry Kane’s sublime curling finish, his 23rd Premier League goal of the season, set them on their way before Christian Eriksen hit the crossbar. Dele Alli doubled the lead before he hit a post when it was easier to score. Kane rolled in the third, which was his 24th, before Alli’s right-foot volley wrapped up Spurs’ ninth away league win of the season.

The result lifted Mauricio Pochettino’s side to 68 points from 34 matches, with Leicester on 73 from the same number of games. Tottenham Hotspur’s travelling fans at the Britannia Stadium chanted “Leicester City – we’re coming for you” after Alli’s chip made it 2-0. Had Spurs lost, Leicester could have been champions next Monday, but the visitors were in control from start to finish as they turned on the style on what could be a pivotal day in the race for the title.

Tottenham Hotspur Reduced the Lead of Leicester1

After the Foxes’ leading scorer Jamie Vardy was left facing the possibility of an increased ban after being charged with improper conduct by the Football Association, Stoke were blown away by a dynamic and aggressive display as Tottenham Hotspur showed no signs of pressure. Eriksen was involved in three of the four goals, Kane has now scored more Premier League goals than relegated Aston Villa this season, and Alli is in double figures.

Leicester City’s final four matches are against Swansea (home), Manchester United (away), Everton (home) and Chelsea (away). Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, face West Brom (home), Chelsea (away), Southampton (home) and Newcastle (away). Spurs have the best attack (64 goals) and the best defence (25 conceded) in the Premier League this season and there is a feeling their title charge is gathering momentum at the right time.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is confident about Dele Alli that he can handle the hype after Sir Alex Ferguson said he was the most talented midfielder since Paul Gascoigne. The 19-year-old Alli has seven goals and 12 assists in his first Premier League season, also impressing for England’s win over Germany on Saturday. Pochettino said he agreed with Ferguson’s assessment. “It’s very good praise from one of the best managers in football history,” said the Argentine.

He added: “Am I worried about the hype? No, you can see the whole season how he has managed the pressure. He is very calm, very mature.” Spurs visit Liverpool on Saturday, where Alli will face England team-mate James Milner, who does not want to put too much pressure on the teenager. “We want to take it off him and let him go out there and not worry about it,” said Milner. “Worry about playing football and keep improving because he is still young. Good as he is at this moment, he can be 10 times better and he will.”

Alli has played a big part in Tottenham’s challenge for a first title since 1961, linking up with striker Harry Kane on seven occasions to become the most productive partnership in Europe’s top five leagues. “He has managed the pressure and the popularity and how to be a senior player and play for the national team,” said Pochettino. “He is very calm. Now he is fresh, at a good level, he has a good mentality. He is mature enough. We have no worries about his future,” added Pochettino.

Alli was close to joining Liverpool while still at MK Dons, but the Reds stalled on the deal, allowing Spurs to seize the advantage. But Pochettino admits he has been surprised by the speed of Alli’s progress. “There is always a question mark with a young player,” he said. You can assess his left and right foot, his performance on the pitch and in training. But how a young player can be affected by the big things that happen in football – being a senior player, being in the national team – this is always a question mark. “All the same, it has surprised us how he has shown maturity.”

Tottenham Hotspur are the favourite for Premier League title, says Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri. Spurs are on second place in league table with a difference of two points from leaders Leicester with 11 matches to play. Mauricio Pochettino side have not gone on the top of table since the first week of the 2009-10 season, but former Chelsea manager Ranieri thinks the London club can end their 55-year wait for a top-flight title. “Tottenham Hotspur are strong in any circumstances,” said the Italian, whose team is going to host West Bromwich Albion tonight at 19:45 GMT.

Spurs could go top with a win at West Ham on Wednesday, should the Foxes slip up against West Brom. Arsenal are three points adrift of their London rivals in third, with Manchester City another four points back in fourth, albeit with a game in hand. Ranieri believes his side’s exploits this season have allowed Tottenham Hotspur to avoid the usual attention generated by a title challenge. “Everyone is speaking about Leicester but nobody about Tottenham,” he said.

Tottenham Hotspur are Title Favourites – Ranieri1

“Tottenham Hotspur, in my opinion, are favourites. When they defend and when they attack, they know what they want. “We are the surprise, that is fantastic, a good energy, but if we are realistic the real competitors are Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.” Ranieri may be reluctant to speak about his side’s title hopes, but West Brom counterpart Tony Pulis is hoping the Foxes can hold off their rivals. “The divide between the big clubs and everyone else is enormous. It would give everyone hope. You want to see the underdog do well.

“It would be a wonderful, wonderful achievement. I hope they see it through.” Clough took Forest to their first – and only – domestic league title a year after winning promotion to the top flight, later winning two European Cups. “It’d be that big,” said Pulis. “But it was different then. The divide then wasn’t as great as the divide is now between those who’ve got it and those who haven’t got it. “The Premier League wasn’t in place, so you’d most probably put this in front of that.”

Liverpool have been drawn against Premier League opponents Manchester United in the Europa League last-16, whereas Tottenham Hotspur will face Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. The ties have been scheduled on Thursday, 10 and 17 March. Liverpool’s home game will start at 20:05 GMT with the second leg at Old Trafford starting at 18:00 GMT. Gary Neville’s Valencia will face fellow Spanish side Athletic Bilbao, whereas Sevilla – the holders of the last two Europa League trophies – will play against Basel. The final will be played at the St Jakob-Park, the home ground of Swiss side Basel.

Liverpool Face Manchester United in Europa League_1

The champions of the competition qualify for next season’s Champions League. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “You can ask my staff but when they asked me last night who I wished,” I said ‘Manchester United’. I believe we need to clear something. We had an excellent match when we lost 1-0 (in the Premier League in January) but it was not what we deserved, he added. It gives us an opportunity to make it better and that is what we will try to do.

Manchester United, who have never won the Europa League, beat FC Midtjylland by 6-3 on a combined result of both legs. Marcus Rashford helped United in their 5-1 second leg victory by scoring two goals on his first appearance for the club. Jurgen Klopp side beat Augsburg by 1-0 on aggregate with the help of James Milner’s goal in the second leg game on Thursday. Liverpool won the old UEFA Cup thrice, in 1973, 1976 and 2001.

Liverpool Face Manchester United in Europa League_2

Manchester United and Liverpool will be in front of each other for the first time in European competition. The last all-English game in the UEFA Cup or Europa League was played between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in April 1973. Spurs beat Fiorentina by 3-0 in their second leg game on Thursday to get a score of 4-1 in total. They have also won the UEFA Cup twice in 1972 and 1984. Sevilla – a record four times winners of the competition – are putting an effort to become the first team to win it consecutively three years.

England forward Harry Kane scored two goals for Tottenham Hotspur, as Spurs moved to third place in the Premier League table with an easy 3-0 win at Norwich. Dele Alli opened the scoring in the second-minute after the low shot of Christian Eriksen had been blocked. Then Kane put the second from penalty spot in the 30th-minute after Alli was fouled in trying to follow up Kane’s saved shot. Man of the match Alli left the field at half-time due to an illness. Then late second goal of Kane from 15 yards sealed the victory for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Alli has involved in 10 goals in his last 13 Premier League matches for Tottenham Hotspur, while Kane has scored eight in his last eight games. They are an imaginary football player’s dream combo. The victory shifts Tottenham Hotspur to third place, above Arsenal on goal difference, due to the Gunners’ goalless draw against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium. Norwich could go in the relegation zone if Newcastle beat Everton today.

Tottenham Hotspur Move Third at League Table_1

If we talk about other Premier League games on Tuesday, then Leicester City are still three points clear at the top of the table. Two second-half goals from Jamie Vardy helped the Foxes to beat the visitors Liverpool by 2-0. Second-placed Manchester City also got full points after beating second bottom side Sunderland by 1-0 at the Stadium of Light. Sergio Aguero was the man who gave the victory to manager Manuel Pellegrini, who is going to quit his job with the City in the summer, by scoring the only goal of the match in the sixteenth-minute.

Manchester United maintain their fifth place after beating Stoke City by 3-0 at Old Trafford. Jesse Lingard and Antony Martial were the men who scored in the first-half, while skipper Wayne Rooney put third for the Van Gaal side after the break. Two goals from Michail Antonio and Cheikhou Kouyate in the second-half provided a fourth win to West Ham United in six Premier League games, as they stay sixth in the table after beating bottom side Aston Villa by 2-0 at Boleyn Ground.

Bournemouth defeated Alan Pardew side Crystal Palace by 2-1 at Selhurst Park. While West Bromwich Albion earned a point with the help of Salomon Rondon’s goal in stoppage time, as they denied Francesco Guidolin a second Premier League win as Swansea boss by playing a 1-1 draw at WBA home ground ‘The Hawthorns’. Two games will be played tonight, Everton will host Newcastle United while defending champions Chelsea will visit Watford.
