Spurs, meanwhile, will be wondering what moves Daniel Levy will be working on for new manager Jose Mourinho after Mauricio Pochettino’s shock sacking. Many of the players who were linked with moves to the Premier League in the summer will once again be making headlines, for sure; while there will be plenty of other names cropping up too.
Umtiti blow for Arsenal
According to L’Equipe, Arsenal could miss out on Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, with the France international preferring a return to former club Lyon if he leaves the Nou Camp.

Pellegrini under pressure
According to the Guardian, Chris Hughton and Rafael Benitez are a potential replacement for Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United.

Palace eye young Liverpool star
Crystal Palace has reportedly made an inquiry with Liverpool about a loan move for Rhian Brewster in January. Roy Hodgson is eager to strengthen his forward line and the club is said to be working on bringing in multiple targets from various clubs.
According to Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp wants the 19-year-old striker to get more experience after making just two appearances for the Liverpool first team.
Brewster will likely play a part in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa in December, with the club having to play two games in 24 hours due to the Club World Cup in Qatar.
Brewster suffered a serious knee injury but has worked his way back to the first team, and Hodgson is hoping to secure a short-term move for the youngster.

Emery ‘edging closer’ to exit
Unai Emery is said to be edging closer to an Arsenal exit amid growing boardroom unrest.
The Gunners are on their worst run of results in over 20 years after going six games without a win, and the Mirror state that the next four games could decide his fate.
Up next is Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, before a trip to Norwich, who currently sit 18th in the table. Two more Premier League games follow, with Brighton and West Ham the opponents.
The club is said to be reluctant to make a mid-season change, but Emery is apparently running out of time to bring about a change in both results and performances.

Arsenal target Fraser keeping options open
Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser is keeping his options open after being linked with moves to Liverpool and Arsenal. The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a host of clubs.
Arsenal was considering a move for the Scottish international in the summer before settling on a club-record move for Nicolas Pepe. Since then, Liverpool and Everton have also been linked with a move for Fraser, and Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that this could be the winger’s last season at the Vitality Stadium.
“In terms of his contract, that’s obviously for him to decide what he wants to do with his future,” Howe told reporters.
We would love him to stay and commit to us but, if not, we need to get the best out of him between now and the end of the season.
“We’ve had conversations with Ryan to try and persuade him to stay but, at the moment, he’s keeping his options open.”

PSG and Man United eye £52m Zaniolo
Manchester United and PSG are reportedly ready to pay €60million (£52million) for Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo. Spurs have previously been linked with the 20-year-old, who has shot to prominence in the last year since making the move to Rome for Inter Milan.

Aston Villa block January exits
Aston Villa has told stars, Jack Grealish and John McGinn that they will not be allowed to leave in the January transfer window.
Grealish has long been linked with Spurs after a failed move for the midfielder in 2018.
Mauricio Pochettino was said to be keen on the midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old would remain on a transfer wishlist for Jose Mourinho.
McGinn, meanwhile, has been linked with Manchester United since the summer and has only cemented his reputation after a great opening to the Premier League season.
Dean Smith stated: “There’s been a lot of speculation about a lot of players – but we have two owners who want to build a football club.
“They want to be challenging the top half of the Premier League table and in the top six in a few years’ time.
“To do that you have to keep your best players and there are no doubts in my mind that the owners will want to keep those players.”

No Sancho conversations with Chelsea
Jadon Sancho’s future at Borussia Dortmund is in doubt, with the Athletic reporting that the winger feels humiliated and scapegoated by the German club.
The 19-year-old scored one and created another in their 3-3 draw at home to the Bundesliga’s bottom side Paderborn, after trailing 3-0 at half-time.
Sancho was substituted after just 36 minutes in the 4-0 defeat against Bayern Munich two weeks ago (with the score just 1-0 at the time of his replacement).
And the winger apparently feels that he is being unfairly being made an example of.
His current options if he leaves the German club now reportedly stand in Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
His former club Manchester City has asked to be kept informed of the situation, however, there have been no conversations with Chelsea, the report states.
Dortmund lead Parrott chase
Borussia Dortmund, are reportedly trying to make a quick move for Spurs youngster Troy Parrott.
Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Real Madrid are all said to be keeping tabs on the 17-year-old, who only made his Spurs debut in September.
According to the Sunday Express, the Bundesliga side is hoping that their successful strategy of bringing through young players will appeal to the striker, following Jadon Sancho’s move to Germany.
They also believe that Jose Mourinho’s arrival in north London could block a route to the first team for the youngster, and are hoping to capitalize with an early move for the Ireland international.
Arsenal eye Auba replacement
Arsenal is reportedly taking a look at Flamengo striker Reinier Jesus as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 30-year-old striker has recently been made Gunners captain, but some reports have suggested that he is considering leaving the club in the summer, with his contract set to expire in 2021 and no progress yet made on talks over a new deal.

According to the Sun, Arsenal is monitoring 17-year-old Brazilian Reinier Jesus after he scored four goals in 12 appearances this season, and could make a move for him in the summer if Aubameyang does depart north London – with Barcelona a touted destination.
