Spurs, meanwhile, will be wondering what moves Daniel Levy will be working on for new manager Jose Mourinho after Mauricio Pochettino’s shock sacking. Many of the players who were linked with moves to the Premier League in the summer will once again be making headlines for sure while there will be plenty of other names cropping up too.

Chelsea eye Genk star

The 21-year-old has just 18 months remaining on his current contract and the club’s sporting. Director has admitted that a number of clubs across Europe are keen on the Norwegian star including Liverpool.

“There are clubs in Italy who are following Berge and Napoli could be one of them, but at this stage, there are no offers on the table. From next week, things could change. We haven’t had any official contract with Napoli yet.”

According to Goal, Genk and Chelsea have a close relationship after the transfers of Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne, and Frank Lampard’s side would consider a move for him if their transfer embargo is lifted.

Arsenal join race for wonderkid

Arsenal is reportedly joining Liverpool in the race for Red Bull Salzburg teenager Karim Adeyemi. The 17-year-old attacker has picked up five goals and four assists this season, and the Gunners are said to be eyeing the forward with interest according to Transfermarkt.

Barcelona has already had a €15million (£12.9million) bid rejected while Borussia Dortmund is also said to be eyeing his progress and could make a move if Jadon Sancho leaves in the summer.

Giroud move in doubt

Inter Milan are rumored to be planning a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in January – but that could apparently be off due to the striker’s wage demands. Antonio Conte is keen to swoop for the France international after Alexis Sanchez underwent surgery recently for an ankle injury.

However, Gazzetta Dello Sport state that Inter is not willing to match his current wage of €8million (£6.9million) per year. Giroud is also said to want a contract that lasts until the end of the 2021/22 season, but Inter would not be willing to give the 33-year-old that long a deal.

Maddison considering a new deal

Leicester City star James Maddison is reportedly considering signing a new contract at the King Power Stadium. The 22-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Spurs and Manchester United.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, the midfielder could sign a new contract with Leicester. However, sources close to Maddison say that there is no new deal yet on offer from Leicester, and the England international could wait until the end of the season before deciding on his future.

Barca and Bayern eye Pochettino

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly both eyeing moves for Mauricio Pochettino. The former Spurs boss is apparently in high demand following his shock exit from north London. According to the Sun, Bayern is keen to talk to the 47-year-old after sacking Niko Kovac recently. Hansi Flick is currently in charge as interim boss.

But Barca is apparently making the biggest move for Pochettino with Ernesto Valverde under mounting pressure in Catalonia. That is despite Pochettino previously stating that he would never take over at Barcelona due to his time with their city rivals Espanyol.

Mourinho wants Bale

New Spurs boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to bring Gareth Bale back to north London. The winger left Spurs in 2013 for Real Madrid and has enjoyed a vastly successful spell in the Spanish capital.

But a host of injuries have interrupted his momentum, and fans and pundits alike have been critical of him in recent years.

The Champions League winner is perceived to spend too much time playing golf and was pictured mocking the claims behind a flag stating Wales Golf Madrid in that order following Wales qualification for Euro 2020.

Mourinho’s arrival at Spurs apparently opens an escape route for Bale according to AS, and he could move for the 30-year-old. However, they state that it will not be happening in January, but next summer.

According to the Independent, the 57-year-old is interested in a move for former Spurs target Bruno Fernandes in January along with Benfica defender Ruben Dias. They also state that Mourinho specifically name-checked Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic to Daniel Levy as a target.
