Inter make Eriksen statement

Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that the Serie A giants have had no contact with Christian Eriksen about a January transfer.

The Tottenham star has been heavily linked with a move away from north London, with his contract set to expire this summer at Spurs.

As such, he is now free to speak with other clubs in Europe about a possible free transfer, with the Dane now in the final six months of his contract.

But amid speculation that a move to Italy could be on the cards, Marotta has spoken out on the situation regarding the Tottenham man, who he described as an “interesting player.”

Speaking to Sky Italy, he said:

Eriksen? It’s not a done deal and we’re not in contact with Tottenham.

He’s a fantastic player and there here are many clubs in talks to sign Eriksen because he’ll be a free agent. I can just say he’s an interesting player.

Modric in talks over MLS move

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric has held talks with MLS side DC United, where Wayne Rooney spent last season.

United eye Maddison

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are keen to sign Leicester City midfielder James Maddison but are aware that a deal to bring the England star to Old Trafford would be highly difficult to complete this month.

Dembele ‘accepts’ decision on Chelsea transfer

Chelsea has reportedly been dealt a blow in their attempt to sign Moussa Dembele from Lyon.

The 22-year-old is the French side’s top scorer this season, with 14 goals in all competitions.

The young striker has been linked with Frank Lampard’s side, with Lyon recently taking the unusual measure of releasing a statement saying that they want to keep the striker for “seasons to come”.

With Lyon’s other attacking star Memphis Depay also ruled out for the rest of the season, the Telegraph (via the Star) state that Dembele has accepted that he will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

However, he is said to be “desperate” for a move in the summer.

Everton lead Spurs and Arsenal in Rabiot chase

Arsenal and Spurs are said to have taken “concrete steps” towards signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.

The North London sides have been linked with the 24-year-old for some time, but Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival at Everton means the Toffees are now the frontrunners to sign the midfielder.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Everton is “especially” keen, and are willing to pay €5m (£4.25m) to secure a six-month loan for the former PSG star, with an option to buy in the summer.

Juve is still not convinced on an exit for the French star, who has only been in Serie A for six months.

Tuttosport, meanwhile, states that Everton is ‘insisting’ on paying €30m for the midfielder in January.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs eye defender

Liverpool, Chelsea, and Spurs are all said to be monitoring Brighton defender Ben White, who is currently on loan at Leeds.

Sky Sports state that the three Premier League clubs have all scouted the center-back recently.

However, there is apparently no break clause in his loan deal, so a move for the 22-year-old in January is unlikely.

Spurs consider Lemar offer

Spurs are said to be considering a loan offer for Atletico Madrid attacker Thomas Lemar.

The winger would cost around €6m (£5.1m) on an initial six-month loan, and there would apparently be an option to buy worth €60m (£51m) inserted into the deal.

The Independent states that the player is keen on an exit from Madrid in January after falling out of favor with Diego Simeone.

Lemar has also been linked to Arsenal, with Spurs’ rivals said to be following the situation.

Nketiah to make a choice

Eddie Nketiah is said to be close to choosing his next club as he spends the second half of the season on loan away from Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City are all said to be in contention to sign the striker, with the Athletic stating that he will be deciding his next move today.

Arsenal is said to be adamant that whichever side wins the race for Nketiah gives him plenty of game time for the rest of the season.
